The Alumni Association Mission Statement
The main purpose of the Alumni Association shall be to
aid and strengthen Seton Catholic Central through financial support when
available, to encourage student recruitment and to promote interest and
support among the alumni. As an ongoing process, the Alumni Association will keep an active database file of all available addresses of the alumni. The database currently entails 3,579 known addresses, 862 missing, and 426 deceased members from Seton Catholic and its predecessors.
Communication with the alumni is performed through the production of 3,600 alumni newspapers that are mailed out to all active
known addresses. Articles in
this publication, called "The Bridge" cover topics from births
to deaths and feature information on Seton.
We also leave open space for articles of interest from the
Administration of Seton and Alumni at large.
Currently, the Director of the Alumni Association is Brother Rene
Demers.
If this relationship changes, the Association Officers will
determine, as per its by-laws, the future arrangements.
The Association is operated by the Alumni Officers and not by the
Brothers of Christian Instruction or Seton Catholic Central. We do have a Director that is acknowledged by the
Administration of Seton which keeps the Association in communication with
the school.
Above all, we must realize that the Alumni Association is just
that, an Alumni Association. It
is not MAI, it is not St. John's, it is not Seton.
It is a group of caring graduates who find it in their hearts to
keep the memories of their alma mater alive.
It is this dedicated, volunteer effort that has made the
Association survive for the past 29 years. For information about joining us on the Association's staff, please contact our Director Brother Rene Demers at 518-562-0504. Thank you for your support! The Alumni Association |
