Physical Education

All students in grades 7-12 shall attend and participate in Physical Education Classes for either the first or second semester of each year. The classes will meet every other day of a six-day cycle. Each student must successfully earn a .50 unit of credit per year resulting in the equivalent of two units of Physical Education to receive a New York State diploma. Approximately 4-5 units of study and play will be covered each semester.

Individual medical waivers must be cleared with the school nurse, Athletic Director, and Physical Education teacher. When a student is medically excused from class, he/she must complete athletic/health portfolios, which will be one part of his/her grade. All grades will reflect the students participation/preparation, skills, and written exam scores.
