Plan
to work hard.
9th grade is the first year your grades
go on your “official” transcript
and get
counted in your
GPA
(grade point average). Turn in homework,
join in class discussions, and study for
tests. Ask for help: Teachers

Learn about honors courses,
advanced-placement
(AP) classes, and
standardized tests as you look ahead.
Make sure you are signed
up for
college-prep courses such as foreign
language and math.
