Academics

 

Seton Catholic is a six-year co-ed Catholic school governed by an Education Council and subject to the policies and regulation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Ogdensburg and the New York State Department of Education.

Seton Catholic is chartered and accredited by the Board of Regents of New York State and the State Education Department.

At Seton Catholic, every student participates in a challenging curriculum. Core subjects required include Religion, English, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, Second Language, Health, Art or Music, and Physical Education. For students entering high school at Seton Catholic we offer an enriched variety of college-preparatory courses including honors and Advanced Placement courses in several disciplines.

Educational Goals

To offer an extensive curriculum that will provide a high quality academic education in a way that meets the diverse needs of our student body.

To provide the opportunity to study the teaching of Jesus and to participate in liturgy and para-liturgical experiences.

To arrange for extracurricular and social activities which enable students to develop leadership skills.

To foster responsible decision-making as individuals and within groups through participation in a variety of experiences.

To create for our students an awareness of the needs of others in our community and around the world.

To enhance communication skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening as a preparation for higher education and life.
